Coulisse is a place where creativity and comfort come together. Providing food experiences full of distinctive flavours in a totally relaxed atmosphere. Aiming for the highest possible standard and make it accessible. The menu changes with the seasons and is accompanied by a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We call it “easy fine dining”.

The interior of the restaurant was created in collaboration with Studio Piet Boon, with a focus on natural, warm materials. The atmosphere is determined by the characteristic features of this historic building and the use of art and design.

Behind the scenes, this is where you’ll find, Simon and Tim. After many years of working at home and abroad in restaurants such as Oud Sluis, The Jane and Noma, they are back in Amsterdam East, where they grew up. As childhood friends, they dreamt about one day running our own restaurant. And now, after a long journey of learning, gaining experience and searching for the perfect location, they have finally found their place in the beautiful NewWerktheater.
